THANK YOU FOR YOUR VISIT TODAY
We want to provide you with some follow-up information.
TOPICAL PRODUCT
You are now LICE-FREE! Leave our exclusive active rinse in the hair for 20 minutes. Before washing your hair, carefully remove your shower cap and then your clothing. We suggest using Dawn dish soap and then our clarifying shampoo. If you do not have that, your normal shampoo and conditioner will work just fine. You just may need to wash it a couple of times to remove all of the dimethicone oil.
HOME CLEANING
After leaving our clinic today, you will be LICE-FREE! We want you to stay that way, so we recommend that you do the following as soon as you get home:
Wash and dry the pillowcases, sheets, blankets, towels, and clothes that any treated family member has used in the past 24 hours. Make sure you use the hot water and high heat settings for your washer and dryer.
We recommend that you vacuum and/or use a sticky lint roller on sofas, chairs, carpets, and seats in the car. You can place combs, hair brushes, and ponytail holders in a plastic bag and leave them in the freezer for a few hours.
Do not use any bug bombs or furniture sprays that claim to kill lice. They are toxic and ineffective.
If you have any questions, please call or text us at (661) 885-5423.
SCALP CONCERNS
It is not uncommon to have some itchiness after treatment. Itching is especially common if you have been treating your hair with other products or have had the infestation for a while and have been scratching vigorously. It is normal to see stray nits after treatment. These nits (eggs) are not viable and will not hatch. They may even “pop” if you squeeze them. This does not mean that they are alive. We have destroyed the developing louse in the egg with heat. Do not use additional products.
You do not need follow-up treatment or screening if you have had heat treatment.
If you only received the comb-out service, please be sure to schedule your follow-up visit soon if you have not already done so.
To prevent head lice in the future, wear hair in a bun or braids. When you need additional preventive products, or if you ever have any questions, please call us!
